Job Description
The Revenue Cycle Manager (RCM) will oversee and optimize the full revenue cycle for all service lines—RTC, PHP, IOP, OP, therapy, case management, psych testing, and more. You’ll manage in-house billing operations, reduce claim denials, monitor reimbursements, and implement efficient workflows. You must be fluent in behavioral health billing and ready to take charge.

Key Responsibilities:
• Own the end-to-end revenue cycle —eligibility, authorization, charge entry, claims submission, payment posting, appeals, and collections
• Develop and implement standardized billing workflows across all programs and payer types
• Track and report on accounts receivable , denial trends, and reimbursement performance
• Coordinate directly with clinical and administrative teams to ensure documentation compliance for payers (especially UHC and BCBS)
• Serve as primary liaison with EMR (Kipu) and clearinghouse for billing-related issues
• Monitor payer policy changes and adapt processes to remain compliant and maximize collections
• Supervise and train billing team staff; provide performance metrics and QA oversight
• Build payer-specific cheat sheets , workflows, and escalation protocols
• Prepare internal reports for leadership on financial trends, aging claims, and KPIs

Required Qualifications:
• Minimum 3+ years of behavioral health revenue cycle experience
• Strong understanding of private insurance and out-of-network billing
• Proven experience reducing denials and increasing reimbursement
• Experience with Kipu EMR , clearinghouses, and billing tools (CollabMd, Availity, etc.)
• Proficient in claim auditing, appeals, and authorization workflows
• Excellent communication and analytical skills
• Strong Excel and reporting capabilities
• Detail-oriented with a “get it done” mentality

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience leading a billing team
• Familiarity with IOP, PHP, RTC, OP, and Miscellaneous BH CPT codes
• Knowledge of payer-specific documentation requirements
• Experience with multi-state billing a plus
• Prior work in a startup or fast-paced clinical environment
