Picture starting your morning with a review of shop drawings, then moving seamlessly from cutting PVC/CPVC on a saw and router to setting up a CNC for a short run. After lunch, you’ll switch gears—assemble components, spot-check quality with calipers and micrometers, and help the team hit a production milestone before closing out accurate production records. That’s a typical day for our PVC/CPVC Fabrication & CNC Assembly Technician.

• Location: PoughKeepsie, NY - SSI Aeration (4 Tucker Dr Poughkeepsie, NY 12603)
• Shift: 1st Shift, Monday - Friday (8am - 5pm)
• Pay: $19 - $22 per hour Based on Experience

What You’ll Do

• Operate saws, drills, routers, and related tools to cut, drill, and assemble PVC pipe.
• Assemble parts manually and via semi- automatic/automatic equipment, including CNC and plastic injection molding machines.
• Interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and work orders to complete builds.
• Measure, cut, fit, and assemble PVC & CPVC components to specification.
• Load and unload shipments for the factory and production floor.
• Set up machines and perform routine maintenance on fabrication equipment.
• Inspect finished work to verify it meets company quality standards.
• Maintain accurate production records; report material usage and issues.
• Keep the work area safe, clean, and organized while following all safety protocols.
• Collaborate with teammates to meet production schedules and deadlines.
• Assist with inventory management and purchasing.
• Pick and pack parts orders when needed.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1+ year in manufacturing, fabrication, or assembly

Core Strengths

• Comfort reading drawings and using a computer.
• Strong time management with keen attention to detail.
• Good problem-solving skills and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Basic familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and machine operation.
• Clear communicator and dependable team contributor.
• Adaptable and eager to learn as production priorities evolve.

Preferred Background

• Pipe fabrication, plumbing, or plastics manufacturing experience.
• Knowledge of PVC solvent welding and mechanical fittings.
• Forklift certification.

Travel & Work Arrangement

This position will be based at our site in Poughkeepsie, NY no travel.

Compensation Details

Starting Pay will range between $19.00 - $22.00 per hour depending on qualifications and experience. This is a full-time, hourly position.

The pay range takes into account a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skills; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed pay range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Ingersoll Rand, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the pay range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
