What You’ll Do

• Perform diagnostic radiography procedures independently using established protocols.

• Apply critical thinking and judgment to ensure accurate imaging and patient safety.

• Interact with patients and team members with compassion, dignity, and respect.

• Administer oral and rectal contrast per physician orders and departmental policy.

• Ensure proper coding, documentation, and image archiving for all exams.

• Communicate clearly with patients to explain procedures and ease concerns.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ARRT-approved school of Radiologic Technology or verification of program completion and scheduled graduation date.

• Technologists hired prior to graduation will work under indirect supervision by an ARRT-certified diagnostic technologist until degree verification is complete.

• Cannot work in an outpatient setting until ARRT certification is obtained.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances

• ARRT Registry Eligible as a Radiologic Technologist.
  • Must obtain radiography registry within 6 months of hire (effective January 1, 2025).

  • Diagnostic Technologists hired prior to January 1, 2025, must obtain registry within 12 months of hire/transfer date .

• Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) required within 30 days of hire, based on AHA standards (includes didactic and skills demonstration).

• If working in a New York facility , must hold certification from ARRT or NMTCB and be licensed through the New York State Department of Health .

• Required Clearances:
  • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting (with renewal)

  • Act 33 (with renewal)

  • Act 34 (with renewal)

  • Act 73 FBI Clearance (with renewal)
