\n\nJob Description\n

The Trauma Stepdown Registered Nurse will be an integral part of a multidisciplinary team providing care to multi-system-injured trauma patients and surgical patients in a six-bed intermediate care stepdown unit. The position requires a strong background in PCU, IMC, Trauma, and SDU nursing.

\n\nResponsibilities\n

\n
• Provide patient care in accordance with established protocols and standards.
\n
• Administer medications and perform procedures as needed.
\n
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and manage dysrhythmias.
\n
• Coordinate with a variety of interdisciplinary teams including IV teams, physical therapy, and respiratory services.
\n
• Provide care for trauma and surgical patients, including management of chest tubes, tracheostomy care, and feeding tube management.
\n

\n\nRequired Experience / Certifications / Licensure\n

\n
• 1 year of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in a trauma or critical care setting preferred.
\n
• Current RN license (WV or Compact RN License required).
\n
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, CPI (preferred), TNCC (preferred).
\n
• Fit testing required for certain procedures.
\n
