Structural Engineer

Our client, a prominent figure in the construction sector, is in search of a seasoned Structural Engineer to lead and supervise the structural components of various construction projects from the initial stages through to their successful completion.

This role requires outstanding organizational abilities, a strategic approach, and a comprehensive knowledge of structural engineering methodologies. Focus:

  • Oversee the structural design and analysis of construction projects, ensuring they meet all safety standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Verify and manage project budgets related to structural components, ensuring cost efficiency through proactive planning and financial oversight. Address cost variances and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Develop and review detailed structural drawings and specifications using software such as Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Coordinate with design professionals, construction teams, and subcontractors to ensure structural integrity and project cohesion.
  • Act as the primary liaison between clients, design professionals, and vendors. Regularly communicate project status, address concerns, and resolve issues to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Oversee and guide project teams and external contractors to optimize efficiency and safety protocols.
  • Prepare and review project reports, including cost reports, progress reports, and performance analyses. Conduct progress meetings and document meeting outcomes.
  • Act as the Engineer of Record (EOR) on projects. This includes performing calculations, building structural models, developing specifications, and overseeing and assisting in drawing production while maintaining direct responsible charge.
  • Execute site visits independently or with other team members to meet with customers and gather project-related information.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with different engineering and architectural disciplines.

Skill Set:

  • A minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a structural engineer in a related field. Project management certifications are a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. A Master’s degree in Structural Engineering will be given consideration where minimum experience is not met.
  • P.E. or S.E. license.
  • Proficient in RISA software platforms, Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Strong proficiency in process improvement, tracking budget expenses, and performance management.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and ability to effectively interact with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to contribute immediately and effectively to project needs.
  • Sharp analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience in reinforced concrete, structural steel, pre-engineered buildings, pre-cast/tilt-up concrete, light gauge steel, steel joists, wood framing, masonry, and insulated metal panels preferred.
  • Projects will be in industrial (food and beverage) and commercial (warehousing and storage) sectors.
