A Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Department provides specialized, efficient, and compassionate patient care in a high-acuity setting, utilizing clinical skills and advanced technology to support patient wellbeing. They coordinate and implement care plans while adhering to departmental standards, maintaining a respectful and flexible approach toward patients, staff, and physicians. This role contributes to making communities healthier within a Level III Trauma, Level I Cardiac, and Level II Stroke Center environment.

Department/Unit Summary
The registered nurse (RN) plans, coordinates and implements patient care specific to the age of the patient population served in the Emergency Room. The RN ensures that quality care is provided in an efficient and safe manner, consistent with departmental standards of care. The RN demonstrates performance consistent with the mission, philosophy and goals of the assigned unit and the organization. They remain flexible to changing systems - are expected to demonstrate quality and effectiveness in work habits and clinical practices, and treat staff, physicians, patients and families with consideration and respect.
