Job Description

Primary Function of Position 

  • We are a small group looking for strong technical leads that want an opportunity to move fast and help build out our core platform and enable the broader development teams to create better products for our patients. We have the potential to interface with many teams, tear down organizational silos, and drive a strong culture of collaboration.

    Our mandate is to promote significant change that will improve the productivity of our engineering teams. If you are a front-end developer who is passionate about the usability of tools, this team will be a collaborative environment in which you will make a true impact on people's lives.

Essential Job Duties 

  • Scope, design, and implement applications to interact with our robot and the data it generates. Your applications will be used by roboticists, software engineers, clinical engineers, testers and the broader organization
  • Identify opportunities to reduce friction in the software development process and increase engineering velocity.
  • Lead the expansion of internal telemetry and observability tools.
  • Educate internal development teams on how to best leverage available tooling

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience  

  • Minimum BSc degree in Computer science or adjacent technical field with 8+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • Expert level knowledge of JavaScript/Typescript and hands-on experience with modern React
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with a diverse range of talented engineers

  • Experience building developer tools
  • Experience with Linux
  • Experience with Python
  • Experience deploying and scaling applications on cloud services like AWS (lambda is a plus)
  • Experience working with relational and NoSQL databases
  • Experience with Kafka, Hadoop, Spark, or other data processing tools
  • Experience working with Docker development and deployment workflows
