Job Purpose

Experienced Steering Design Engineer is responsible for designing steering parts and systems that meet targeted schedules and deliver outstanding performance, quality, reliability, value, and enjoyment to Honda’s customers.

Key Accountabilities

• Achieve Performance, Quality, Cost and Delivery Targets by: 
• Confirm supplier part/assembly designs and/or model parts and systems on own in 3D and release 2D drawings and specifications using CATIA & MS office. 
• Thinking critically & applying fundamental engineering principles to complex targets. 
• Plan & coordinate activities with other design, test, factory, purchasing and suppliers.
• Create own schedules with milestones and trigger points, and share with related groups
• Review costs to ensure it meets the design intentions and provide solutions if it does not.
• Create Value & Innovation through studying technical trends and new technology, consider more efficient processes to support your work, make proposals that create new value for your department, Honda or our customers and confirm application of development strategies for your area of responsibility.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

• Bachelor’s of Science in Mechanical / Automotive Engineering
• 2+ years automotive steering component and system design experience, or closely related (keywords; Chassis, Steering, Gearbox, Column, Kinematics)
• CAD software (CATIA V5/V6) with Kinematics or closely related, Microsoft Office
