THE ROLE




We are looking for a sales engineer to work within our partnerships and sales teams to design and deliver AI solutions based on MindsDB to customers. The AI landscape is changing quickly, and MindsDB customers appreciate detailed, technical guidance in designing and building AI systems such as ‘agents’. The sales engineer should have a familiarity with the current options for an ‘AI stack’, including libraries such as LangChain, Llama Index, model families and types, vector DBs and other tools in order to guide customers on the best solution for their use case.

WHAT YOU’LL BE WORKING ON



  • Embedding within the business development team to serve as a technical thought partner in the sales process.

  • Providing technical expertise and insights during the sales process and presenting MindsDB as a solution.

  • Demonstrating MindsDB’s capabilities to potential customers in a way that is tailored to their specific workflow, IT architecture, and requirements.

  • Leading technical discovery sessions to understand alignment and disconnects with the MindsDB solution.

  • Answering technical questions from prospects.

  • Creating reference architectures (may be supported by an ML engineer or may act independently).

  • Analyzing customer requirements and designing solutions to meet them.

  • Serving as a conduit to channel customer feedback to the product team.

  • Maintaining deep market and industry expertise (AI and ML models, databases, etc).

  • Contributing to technical resources and documentation.

  • Helping to scale the solutions engineering function as the team grows.

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS




  • BA/BS degree, preferably in computer science or a related field.

  • 3-7 years in a solutions engineering or architect role or equivalent.

  • SQL expertise.

  • Enjoys working with customers.

  • Ability to travel up to 15% of the time for face-to-face meetings.

  • Scrappiness, independence, end-to-end project ownership.

$180,000—$198,000 USD
