Description:

Charter Oak Health Center is seeking a Revenue Cycle Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying patient reimbursement issues, ensuring that claims, denials, and appeals are efficiently processed, and resolving billing-related issues. They should also be able to code diagnoses and procedures correctly. Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of bills sent to Third Party Payors and Self Pay patients and the timely collection of amounts owed. Oversee the initiation of any appeals of denied claims. Lead the rate negotiation with insurance companies. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a difference in the community while advancing your career in healthcare.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implementing a system to ensure that accurate billing information is entered into the billing system.
  • Supervising the revenue cycle department in various duties, such as account management, communications with insurance providers, collections, cash posting, contract analysis, and billing.
  • Managing staff performance by providing regular feedback, performance reviews, and one-on-one meetings.
  • Overseeing the hiring and training of staff.
  • Planning and structuring the department workflow and staffing.
  • Efficiently managing patient complaints of billing and collections.
  • Correctly coding diagnoses and procedures.
  • Reviewing financial hardship applications.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong written, verbal, inter personal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and billing databases.
  • Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records and experience with ECW a plus.
  • Knowledge of basic medical coding and third-party operating procedures and practices.
  • Knowledge of medical billing/collection practices.
  • Knowledge of business office procedures.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees and the public.
  • Must be well organized and detail-oriented.
  • FQHC experience a plus.

Requirements:

Professional Experience/Educational Requirements:

  • BA or BS Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent education.
  • Ten years of medical billing experience, and strong knowledge of business process, accounting theory and methods.
  • Experience with Medicaid billing

Certification/Licensure:

  • Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or
  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC)
