Responsibilities Under general supervision, provides support to the department through monitoring a RTCC workstation that includes performing several tasks at the same time while monitoring and viewing multiple computer/camera screens. Receives, evaluates and transmits information via telephone, computer and multi-channel radio that frequently involves emergency and critical situations affecting human welfare and safety; utilizes Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) and other computer systems; facilitates, via camera feeds, CAD, and Automatic License Plate Readers (ALPR), the detection of suspicious and criminal activity and relayed this information to the responding and/or on-scene officers via radio or message. Reports to the Detective Supervisor. Education High School diploma or GED. Experience Must be at least 18 years of age and have two (2) years of experience consisting of Law Enforcement, Loss Prevention, Security or Military service. Certifications Successful completion of required training/certifications Preferred Note: The City retains the right to determine equivalencies. Any certifications not possessed at hire, must be obtained before the employee is removed from probation in order to continue employment with the City. Physical Requirements Must be physically able to operate assigned equipment, video equipment, and a variety of automated office machines which includes a computer, copier, overhead projector, etc. Must be able to exert up to twenty pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to ten pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Work requires sitting for prolonged periods of time looking at video monitors, which restricts movement in the work area.
