Skullcandy is seeking a Product Quality Assurance Test Technician to join our fast-paced Product Development team. As part of the quality team, you will be responsible for creating and manually executing use cases. This role currently focuses on manual test execution with opportunity for automation work and hands on training. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work with PLM, Firmware Engineer, Quality Engineer, FW Developers, App Team, to validate and approve firmware release candidates.
• Maintain JIRA project boards for FW bug tracking for up to date status of FW issues for product development team. Play an integral role in assigning severity and determining issue resolution.
• Be Product Development Team's JIRA Admin, responsible for the overall management, configuration, and maintenance of FW issues tracking. This includes tasks like creating projects, configuring workflows, managing users and permissions, and integrating JIRA with other tools when needed.
• Write and execute functional test cases to ensure features meet the desired product specifications. Work with PLM and additional stakeholders to elaborate on under-defined/unknown UX experiences discovered during a testing cycle.
• Use firmware tools to flash products to test FW releases. Perform thorough regression testing and user testing of development products across multiple devices and applications with a focus on finding, reporting, and reproducing bugs and glitches.
• Create and maintain reference board test setup to pull embedded FW logs for debugging.
• Provide first-level triage and reproduction of customer reported issues.
• Generate reports and issues log detailing feature tested and document test case coverage.
• Research, analyze, benchmark product features under test to inform on performance targets and user experience.
• Run and maintain automated test tools for accelerated stress and load test where necessary.
• Working knowledge of creating best in class test cases, functional testing, and regression testing cycles.
• Work cooperatively with Quality and Engineering teams to prioritize testing needs (FW and HW) prior to each development build release.
• Contribute to Quality organization continuous improvement, project team's quality process, and assist the Quality team with projects as needed

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• 2+ years' experience with embedded systems/product testing.
• BS in computer science is a preferred.
• Self-motivated and can self-direct investigation as defects are discovered.
• Extremely detailed oriented with great problem-solving skills. Technical enough to define or clarify a problem statement, identify problems as a defects or user errors, and drive issues to root cause.
• Ability to make decisions and perform risk analysis to improve coverage based on risk and time
• Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external teams.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Suite
