It is the responsibility of the Supervisor to organize, supervise and coordinate the day-to-day, field level, crew operations to complete the work on schedule, within the budget and to the quality of workmansip as expected by Palmer and Sicard.
Required Qualifications:

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to deal with clients, management, vendors, crews, and professionals.
- Have a clean, neat, and professional appearance; a top performer who can instill pride of workmanship in himself and in others.
- Must be organized and can multitask.
- Ability to Manage multiple projects, people, subcontractors, and vendors concurrently.
- Detail-oriented and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to schedule and manage personnel assigned and materials needed.
- Exhibit an in-depth knowledge and understanding of plumbing and mechanical systems and willing to learn as needed.
- Knowledge of construction procedures, equipment, and OSHA guidelines.
- Ability to read and understand construction documents.
- Computer literate, with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and Bluebeam.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- 10 to 15 years of plumbing and mechanical trade experience.
- Must have a working knowledge of hot water, chilled water, domestic water, sanitary, natural gas, medical gas and steam systems.
- Attendance is an essential function of the job.
- Must hold and maintain relevant New Hampshire trade licenses and a willingness to obtain additional licenses as required.
- Must hold and maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Must be OSHA 30 trained prior to employment.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- The Plumbing Supervisor will provide leadership as well as establish and maintain effective and harmonious working relationships with all those involved with the project, including clients, general contractors, subcontractors, and crew.
- Willingness to work with crew if task or project requires it.
- Effectively communicate project expectations to team members in a clear and timely fashion.
- Ensure project milestones have been met and to the satisfaction of the client.
- Educate and inform clients of additional services and products available.
- Promote the Service Department and preventative maintenance programs with the clients.
- Responsible for securing and obtaining permits, as well as making sure they are recorded
- Ensures Time and Materials slips are fully completed, signed, and submitted to the project manager as the work is completed.
- Prioritize workflow, produce schedules, monitor crew production; compliance; and attendance.
- Proper comprehension of project documents including, but not limited to the proposal scope of work, plans, details, specifications, submittals, installation manuals, manufacturer recommendations and shop drawings.
- Must have a working knowledge of, and uphold, Company rules, policies, regulations and applicable code.
- Oversee that all safety precautions and quality standards are met at the field level.
- Works additional hours as required to complete the job.
- Attend project handoff meeting from Estimating to the PM.
- Attend project closeout meeting with the PM, if necessary.
- Attend monthly cost to complete meeting, as required.
- Attend weekly labor planning meeting.
- Work with Project Manager to identify areas suitable for prefabrication and coordinates prefabrication with shop resources.
- Ensure field level documentation is current and organized.
- Enter assignments for work orders into dispatch software.
- Monitor crews for tardiness and validation of recorded time.
- Perform quality control (pre-punch) prior to concealment or inspections.
- Administer punch lists in conjunction with the PM.
- Motivate the work force and maintain high employee morale.
- Recommend appropriate personnel actions, i.e., hiring, firing, promotion, demotion, compensation, etc.
- Write annual reviews of apprentice level employees and provide input for other employees under your direction.
- Provide current input and actively participate in meetings on work progress, customer relations, field relations, internal administration, and other matters affecting field operations.
- Assigns goals and regularly measures progress.
- Works to resolve conflict as required.
- Works closely with the Safety Manager to promote safety, ensure compliance, and preplan high risk activities.
