Overview Online Shopper Job purpose: Assists the department manager in reaching sales and operational goals established for the in-store online operations by accurately selecting, scanning, and staging online orders adhering to performance standards. Ensures a smooth and timely order selection and staging process, supports inventory accuracy, and contributes to a positive customer experience by upholding quality, freshness, and service standards. Essential Responsibilities Accurately selects, scans, and stages online orders using handheld devices, ensuring product quality, freshness, and order completeness. Follows substitution guidelines and freshness standards to ensure a positive customer experience, resolving issues with care and urgency. Creates an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated to ensure a quality shopping experience. Promotes trust and respect among associates by collaborating, promoting teamwork, and communicating company, department, and job specific information. Adheres to all local, state, and federal laws, and company guidelines. Supports the achievement of performance standards by maintaining key operational metrics. Ensures company standards for safety, proper food handling practices, sanitation and productivity are maintained. Adheres to all regulatory compliance requirements pertaining to food safety, USDA & COOL, and DOA. Executes all product recalls and withdrawals in a timely manner while ensuring all items are secured and removed from customer access. Reinforces safety programs by complying with safety procedures and inspects and identifies unsafe conditions to report to store management. Notifies management of customer or employee accidents. Reports all safety risk or issues, and illegal activity, including robbery, theft or fraud. Ensures adherence to wage and hour policies and regulations. Cultivates a culture of safety within the store. Ensures self and all associates are working safely and have received necessary safety training. Ensures Hazardous Assessments are posted for associate reference and that Personal Protective Equipment is available and utilized by all associates executing tasks within the department, as required. Ensures equipment is in good repair; reports and assists with remediation (e.g., lock out/tag out of equipment) of safety hazards within the department. Qualifications Education GED/High School Diploma Language Requirements English Experience 0-3 years Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Familiarity with grocery product categories, freshness standards, and store layout Comfortable using handheld devices, mobile apps, and barcode scanners Strong attention to detail and commitment to order accuracy Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment Prioritization and time management skills to meet fulfillment windows Clear and respectful communication with associates and leadership Flexibility to adapt to changing order volume and customer needs Awareness of food safety, sanitation, and operational compliance standards Environment & Safety Department: Retail Grocery. Environment: Retail - General. Physical demands include standing/walking, manual dexterity, reaching, lifting up to 50 lbs, and exposure to various indoor/outdoor conditions. Safety risks include working on slippery floors, hazardous equipment, and exposure to cleaning solutions. PPE is provided as required. Hazardous assessments should be posted for associate reference.
