Journeyman Electrician – Industrial

Quality “Plus” Services is seeking an experienced and licensed Journeyman Electrician to join our team supporting industrial and construction projects in Auburndale, Florida, and the surrounding Central Florida region . This role focuses on installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems in industrial facilities, manufacturing plants, and process environments .

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair industrial electrical systems, including motors, transformers, switchgear, control panels, and power distribution equipment .
• Troubleshoot and diagnose complex electrical systems, including motor controls, PLCs, and VFDs , using proper testing equipment and procedures.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical drawings to ensure installations meet design specifications and code compliance.
• Perform preventive maintenance on electrical panels, equipment, and distribution systems to reduce downtime and improve system reliability.
• Ensure all work complies with NEC, OSHA, and company safety standards , including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to apprentices and helpers to promote safe, efficient, and high-quality work practices.
• Collaborate with project managers, maintenance teams, and engineering staff to support overall plant operations and efficiency.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and installations .

Qualifications

• Valid Florida Journeyman Electrician License (or ability to obtain reciprocity).
• 3–5+ years of industrial electrical experience , including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Completion of a recognized electrical apprenticeship program .
• Strong working knowledge of motor controls, high-voltage systems, PLCs, and VFDs .
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams .
• Familiarity with NEC, OSHA, NFPA 70E , and industrial safety standards.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. , climb, bend, and work at heights or in confined spaces.
• Must be able to work in varied indoor and outdoor environments , including heat, humidity, or inclement weather.
• Willingness to work overtime, night shifts, or weekends as project demands require.

Compensation:

• Journeyman Electricians: $30-$36 per hour, depending on experience.
• Apprentices and Helpers: $16–$24 per hour, depending on skill level and experience.
