DESCRIPTION

Amazon Industrial Robotics is seeking exceptional talent to help develop the next generation of advanced manufacturing facilities that will transform production at Amazon's scale. As an Industrial Engineer, you will develop innovative and complex factory layouts using simulation modeling to optimize our manufacturing operations and enhance production efficiency. The ideal candidate has demonstrated experience designing and optimizing manufacturing systems from the ground up. They enjoy analytical problem solving and possess practical knowledge of factory design, process engineering, and discrete event simulation. They thrive in an interdisciplinary environment and have led the development of efficient manufacturing systems in highly automated environments.

Key job responsibilities
- Support cross-functional teams in factory design projects
- Use simulation modeling tools to analyze manufacturing systems
- Create discrete event simulations for factory validation
- Learn and apply basic Lean/Six Sigma concepts to improve processes
- Maintain material flow documentation for production environments
- Support the maintenance of factory simulation models
- Collaborate with various teams to understand factory operations
- Prepare technical documentation
- Follow established engineering practices and maintain proper documentation

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience using advanced simulation modeling tools (Flexsim, Arena, Simio, etc.)
- Experience in complex work environments, including (but not limited to robotics, automation, diagnostic and test equipment)
- Experience in creating process improvements with automation and analysis
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams
- Experience with Six Sigma, lean manufacturing
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
- Experience working in a factory environment or on production lines
- Experience writing technical documents, project plans and progress reports to leadership and to stakeholders
- Experience with full lifecycle development of manufacturing systems
- Demonstrated ability to translate simulation insights into practical implementation plans
