Job Description

Eurofins Lancaster Laboratories, a nationally recognized laboratory, is searching for an experienced Bioassay Research Associate to work in our Professional Scientific Services group in San Diego, CA. The person in this role will work in a cross-functional environment and assist key lab operations including cell isolation, nucleic acid extractions and quantification of analytes in conditioned media or biospecimens.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Peripheral Blood Mononuclear Cells (PBMC) and primary cell isolation from whole blood
• Primary cell culture and functional assays to characterize drug target pathway activity or pharmacodynamic biomarkers
• Nucleic acid extractions from primary cells, protein preparations of tissue lysates and quantification
• Multi-color flow cytometry on primary cells and tissue single cell suspensions
• Quantification of biomarkers by immunoassay in conditioned media and patient biospecimens
• Coordinate with biobanking team on sample requests and facilitate biospecimen transfer
• Maintain accurate and thorough paper and electronic documentation of experiments, data and reports

Qualifications

• Strong cell culture skills including cell lines and primary cells
• Experience developing ex-vivo cell-based assays to assess immune responses from human whole blood, PBMCs, and various immune cell subsets
• Proficiency in data analysis using Excel, Prism (GraphPad), FlowJo
• Experience with immunoassay platforms (e.g., ELISA, Meso Scale Discovery, Simoa, Gyro) to measure analytes in serum, plasma, supernatant or cell lysates is required
• Experience in multi-color flow cytometry to immunophenotype human cells (from blood or tissues), to assess immune response or cell signaling pathways
• Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills
• Demonstrated effective communications skills, oral and written, in a multi-disciplinary, project-driven environment

Basic Minimum

Qualifications

• BS/MS in immunology, cell biology, or related biomedical science with 2+ years relevant industry experience
• Authorization to work in the United State indefinitely without restriction of sponsorship (OPT, H1B, etc.)
