General Job Description:
Responsible for the upkeep of the facility. Inspects the building, equipment, and systems for any issues. They schedule repairs for facility equipment and/or damaged structures. They also perform general maintenance of the facility and grounds. Also, fix and maintain machines and mechanical equipment. Responsible for keeping a facility operating and repairing any problems when they are discovered before they have a chance to worsen and will be expected to perform a wide range of repair tasks around a facility.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Install and/or repair machinery and mechanical equipment.
Performing routine maintenance around the building (such as fixing structural damage, window repair, door, wall, or floor repair, etc.)
Applying preventive measures to the building to reduce the risk of future problems.
Fixing potential safety hazards to avoid injuries.
Dismantles machinery and remove/replace defective parts.
Make sure all tools and supplies are well maintained, equipped, and placed properly where needed.
Keeping maintenance records up to date and correctly filled.
Keeping work area clean.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Technician/mechanical certifications are not required but preferred.
Basic Mechanical knowledge.
Experience with food packaging equipment (PREFFERED)
Experience with conveyors and motors.
Physical stamina is needed to handle a full shift of being active and working around the building.
Ability to move and lift heavy objects.
Needs attention to detail to ensure that all jobs are completed in an exemplary manner and any potential hazard or warning signs of problems are not overlooked.
Great problem solving skills.
Interpersonal skills to interact with employees.
