POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director of Organizational Development serves in the Court Administration Department and reports to the Deputy Court Administrator.
The Director of Organizational Development is responsible for enhancing the efficiency of the court by leading change management, talent development, employee engagement, and community outreach programs and activities.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The essential duties and responsibilities of the position are as follows:
Develops and implements change management strategies to ensure smooth transitions during changes in court operations, including preparing and supporting employees through change initiatives, mitigating resistance, and fostering a culture of adaptability.
Collaborates with department directors in identifying inefficiencies in current processes and recommending improvements, including streamlining workflows, integrating technology, optimizing resource allocation, and refining written procedures.
Designs and executes programs that enhance employee skills and performance, including training and development programs, leadership development initiatives, and performance management.
Creates and implements strategies to boost employee morale and engagement, including employee recognition programs and organizing team-building activities.
Engages in community outreach activities by working with schools of higher education and community partners for organizing volunteer and public speaking opportunities for judges and court staff.
Works with the Public Information Officer to develop communication strategies for community outreach activities.
Leads special projects to improve court efficiencies, enhance professionalism, and foster communication, cooperation, and collaboration throughout the organization.
Attends Senior Leadership meetings to provide advice and counsel to Court Administration on the organizational development of the court.
Collaborates with department directors and other court leaders to ensure alignment with the courts goals and initiatives.
Participates in training opportunities, court activities, projects, and committees as requested or required.
Completes other duties and responsibilities as required and assigned.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND SKILLS:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:
The position requires an appropriate combination of formal education, additional training and courses, and work experience. There is not an exact level or mixture of these elements to indicate one will necessarily be successful in, or qualify for, the position.
For example purposes only, an example of an acceptable combination of qualifications for the position is a bachelor’s degree in organizational management, public administration or public relations, and seven years of experience serving in a governmental agency in a leadership role.
LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
A valid state of Ohio motor vehicle operator’s license is preferred in order to carry out job-related essential functions. Private insurance is required if private vehicle is employed for job-related functions.SCOPE OF SUPERVISION:
The position requires no supervisory duties or responsibilities.
EQUIPMENT OPERATED:
Vehicle, computer, calculator, copier, fax, telephone, and other general office equipment.

While performing duties of this job, the employee regularly exhibits digital dexterity and eye-hand coordination when performing typing and other tasks. The employee frequently sits for extended periods of time, and occasionally stands and walks. Employee converses verbally with others in person and by telephone. Vision demands include close, relatively detailed vision when typing and using a computer screen. Job may involve operating or sitting in a vehicle.
