As a Designer II, a typical day might include the following:
\n - Create detailed physical and electrical designs, bills of materials and support job estimates under the direction of a technical lead.
\n - Prepare CAD drawings and other project documentation.
\n - Provide design engineering support to project technical leads.
\n - Prepare technical specifications for review.
\n - Complete assigned work within timelines and budgets with a high level of quality.
\n - Develop and maintain an intermediate level of expertise in SEL and industry design practices.
\n - Assist, mentor, and train interns, drafters and entry level designers.
\n - Develop and maintain an intermediate level of knowledge of SEL equipment and solutions for electric power system protection and automation.
\n - Assist with the development of improvements to available processes and tools and provide feedback on process enhancements
\n

This job might be for you if: \n - Associate degree in EET, CAD, Drafting, or relevant discipline; or possess equivalent experience for each academic year
\n - Six plus years of relevant experience with high voltage electrical design, including multiple projects in protective relay control systems
\n - Ability to learn concepts and technical details of products
\n - Ability to work independently, accepting ownership of assigned responsibilities
\n - Expert competence in CAD drafting (AUTOCAD or Microstation)
\n - Intermediate understanding of the installation requirements for protective relays of different type and function
\n - Willing to travel as needed
\n

Preferred Qualifications \n - Experience testing and commissioning protective relay, process control, and SCADA control systems
\n - Electrical utility, consulting, or system integrator experience
\n - Knowledge of protective relay applications and/or automation applications
\n

Pay Range Information: $31.97 - $38.37 per hour. Our salary ranges are determined by job, responsibility, and location. We base our starting pay offer and title on location and job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills.
