What You’ll Do

In this role, you’ll be responsible for underwriting and analyzing consumer loan applications while ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. Your day-to-day tasks will include:

• Reviewing loan applications, credit reports, and supporting documents to make fair and accurate lending decisions.
• Ensuring loan policies and procedures meet all compliance requirements.
• Monitoring economic and industry trends that effect lending practices.
• Recommending improvements to processes that enhance the member experience.
• Communicating directly to lending staff to explain loan decisions and provide guidance for our members.
• Supporting our “Selling is Telling” culture by identifying opportunities to connect members with helpful products and services.
• Serving as a trusted resource for colleagues by answering questions, sharing knowledge, and helping identify training opportunities.

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum of 3 years of consumer loan underwriting or similar consumer loan experience (credit union or banking preferred).
• Strong analytical skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to interpret credit reports, debt ratios, and financial documentation.
• Proficiency in financial software, including Origence arc OS (Lending 360), Corelation KeyStone (preferred), and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of consumer lending laws and underwriting procedures.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills—you’ll be working with both members and colleagues daily.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and compliance.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; NMLS registration required.
