Assist with installing new electrical systems and repairing existing electrical systems while maintaining compliance with national, state, and local electrical codes along with all Rosendin policies and procedures. Support activities at commercial, industrial, institutional and residential project locations. Essential duties include using industry related hand tools and power tools under supervision, assisting the Inside Wireman with measuring, cutting, bending, threading and installing wire and electrical cable systems, conduit systems and other wire raceway systems, assisting with wires and cables within control centers, distribution boxes, transformers, transducers, switch gear, receptacles, switches, splicing and terminating wires at junction points, cleaning, gathering and transporting materials to electricians on the construction site, communicating effectively with Foremen and crew members, maintaining workflow schedule to meet productivity objectives, demonstrating professionalism and courtesy, and adhering to all safety policies and procedures. Skills required include the ability to read and understand electrical single line blueprints, familiarity with operation, maintenance and repair of electrical systems, and basic knowledge of tools and equipment and their safe use. Physical demands include ladder climbing, wire pulling, conduit pulling, walking, climbing, lifting, squatting, crawling, kneeling, pushing, pulling, reaching overhead, standing for long periods, working off ladders, man lifts or reach booms, lifting 50 lbs, and having use of feet, legs, hands and arms for climbing and balancing. Must be able to see and hear or have corrected vision and hearing, distinguish color coded wires, adjust vision focus, and use peripheral vision and depth perception. Work environment may include exposure to various weather conditions, high noise levels, cramped and dirty conditions, and hazards such as electrical shock and other work-site accidents.
