About the Role

The Company is seeking a Chair for its Department of Political Science. The successful candidate will be the chief representative and leader of the department, responsible for setting and meeting enrollment, retention, and graduation projections. This role involves supervising faculty and staff, scheduling courses, and creating and approving departmental goals in line with the university's mission. The Chair will also be involved in faculty evaluation, tenure, and promotion, as well as maintaining an active research agenda and teaching two courses each semester. Strong leadership, administrative, and communication skills are essential, as is a demonstrated commitment to diversity, inclusion, and equity. Applicants for the Chair position must have an earned Ph.D. in Political Science and have achieved the rank of Full Professor or possess the qualifications necessary to do so. The role requires a candidate with a robust research agenda, evidence of scholarly achievement, and a proven track record of successful teaching, research, and service. The ideal candidate will have experience in leadership that aligns with the university's vision of academic distinction and the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse faculty and student body. Responsibilities also include managing the department's budget, ensuring compliance with university policies, and actively participating in student recruitment and professional development efforts.
