Job Summary:

The CAD Drafter – Level 1 is responsible for supporting the design and development of complex electro-mechanical components and systems by converting engineering concepts and schematics into technical 2D drawings, creating assembly documentation, and managing engineering documents and change orders. All work is performed in accordance with engineering instructions, customer specifications, and established quality and safety standards.

Essential Duties & responsibilities:

• Convert mechanical engineering designs into accurate 2D technical drawings.
\n
• Generate complete assembly drawings and parts lists, capturing all components, hardware, and materials.
\n
• Provide production-ready drawings and data packages to support manufacturing and assembly.
\n
• Create 1:1 scale flat patterns and modification drawings for fabricated metal parts.
\n
• Initiate and incorporate Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and maintain revision control.
\n
• Perform accurate and organized file and document management.
\n
• Ensure compliance with ASME Y14 drafting standards and internal drawing protocols.
\n
• Support adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory requirements (e.g., ITAR).
\n
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve documentation issues.
\n
• Fulfill drawing requests.
\n
• Properly file engineering documentation.
\n
• Perform other duties as assigned to support project and team success.
\n

Qualifications & Abilities:

\n
• Proficiency in AutoCAD LT (2004 or later) for 2D drafting.
\n
• Understanding of ASME Y14 drafting standards.
\n
• Ability to interpret and create technical drawings, schematics, BOMs, and engineering documents.
\n
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
\n
• Effective communication skills—both written and verbal.
\n
• Highly organized and self-directed with minimal need for supervision.
\n
• Proficiency in Solidworks or Auto CAD
\n

Pay Range:

1-3 years experience: $27-$34/hour
