The Assistant Professor of Public Health isresponsible for teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in public health, conducting scholarly research, advising students, and participating in service activities within the department, college, and university. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and community-engaged public health initiatives that support diverse student populations. Responsibilities Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in areas such as epidemiology, health promotion, global health, environmental health, biostatistics, or health policy. Develop and update course materials to reflect current public health trends, research, and best practices. Advise and mentor students in academic and professional development. Engage in scholarly research and seek external funding to support public health initiatives. Publish peer-reviewed journals, present at academic and professional conferences, and contribute to public health knowledge. Collaborate with students and colleagues on research projects and interdisciplinary initiatives. Participate in departmental, college, and university committees and service activities. Support university outreach and public health partnerships with community organizations, local health departments, and other stakeholders. Assist in program assessment, accreditation efforts, and continuous improvement processes. Education Doctorate (Ph.D., DrPH, ScD) in Public Health or a closely related field from an accredited institution. ABD candidates nearing completion will be considered. Evidence of successful teaching experience at the college/university level. Must be able to lift 10 pounds.
