María Laura García was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. At 16 she launched a local newspaper, which she led until she was 19. She studied journalism and worked as a journalist in broadcast and print media, including Radio El Mundo, Diario La Nación and Editorial Abril, and later as PR with international media at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Argentina. In 1998, she founded GlobalNews®️, today the largest communications measurement and media monitoring company in Latin America. Between 2018 and 2021, she was president of the World Media Intelligence Association (FIBEP). She is a member of the board of the World Innovation and Change Management Institute, Vital Voices South Cone and the British Hospital. She is also on the advisory board for AI 2030.
In recent years she has specialized in innovation, the information ecosystem and the challenges related to the transformation of the digital world.
She has received various local and international awards and was chosen Business Leader 2022 by Universidad Siglo 21.
She invests in startups with a technological core and regional capacity.
